INDOCILI 21/22
INDOCILI è una rassegna cinematografica dedicata ai giovani registi italiani. L'obiettivo è quello di dare la possibilità ad un pubblico più ampio di vedere in sala film che altrimenti rimarrebbero legati al mondo dei Festival. Sei appuntamenti distribuiti dal 19 ottobre 2021 al 15 marzo 2022 presso il cinema Beltrade di Milano, in cui vengono presentati un cortometraggio e un medio/lungometraggio accomunati fra loro da tematiche attuali come le periferie, la disabilità e i nuovi media. Gli appuntamenti sono anticipati da un incontro informale con i registi al Bar Rondò (viaMartiri Oscuri 15), a pochi passi dal cinema. A seguire, alle ore21.30, sono presenti in sala le autrici e gli autori dei film per incontrare il pubblico prima e dopo le proiezioni. La rassegna è curata dall'associazione culturale Tafano e dal cinema Beltrade.
INDOCILI is a film review dedicated to young Italian directors. The goal is to give a wider audience the opportunity to see films that would otherwise remain linked to the festival circuit. Six appointments distributed from 19 October 2021 to 15 March 2022 at the Beltrade Cinema in Milan, during which a short film and a medium/feature film are presented, united by current issues such as suburbs, disability and New Media. The projections are preceded by an informal meeting with the directors at the Bar Rondò (via Martiri Oscuri 15), a few steps from the cinema. Afterwards, at 9.30 pm the authors of the films are present to meet the public before and after the screenings. The film review is curated by the Tafano cultural association and by the Beltrade cinema.

MIRACOLI (Italy/France, 2021, 15') a film by AGNESE GALIOTTO – produced by Frankfurter Kunstverein
Claudia e Andrea sono fratelli. Vivono a Chiampo, un paese del Veneto dove negli anni '30 un frate scultore ha realizzato la riproduzione della grotta di Lourdes in cemento armato. Interrogandosi sul coinvolgimento della disabilità nelle pratiche di guarigione, “Miracoli” racconta un pellegrinaggio senza religione, seguendo Claudia, oggi ciclista endurance, in unallenamento.
Claudia and Andrea are brothers. They live in Chiampo, a town in the Veneto region where in the 1930s a sculptor friar made a reproduction of the Lourdes grotto in reinforced concrete. Asking about the involvement of disability in healing practices, “Miracoli” tells a pilgrimage without religion, following Claudia, now an endurance cyclist, in a training session.

Nelle prealpi italiane è estate. Mirko e Max si incontrano nella foresta e avanzano nei luoghi dell’abbandono cercando di immaginare un possibile futuro, mentre Giorgia e Lorenzo vivono timidi momenti di intimità. Sullo sfondo la quotidianità di una comunità di ragazzi con disturbo dello spettro autistico capaci di vivere in equilibrio tra il reale e il fantastico, tra il fisico e il metafisico, tra la paura e il piacere di perdersi. Il documentario narra delle scoperte,dei riti e delle relazioni di un universo sospeso: un viaggio nel mondo dell’autismo, dove l’adolescenza e il desiderio sono raccontati nel loro semplice divenire.
In the Italian foothills, summer is almost over. Mirko and Max meet in the forest and wander in abandoned places, trying to imagine a possible future, while Giorgia and Lorenzo live timid moments of intimacy. In the background, a daily life of a community of teenagers with ASD, who manage to live in balance between real and fantastic,physical and metaphysical, fear and pleasure of getting lost. They somehow live “outside” time, a condition that allows them to experience an ephemeral present made of discoveries, rituals and relationships. Marana is a journey into the world of autism, where the desires of youth are recorded in their simple becoming.

IL TEMPO SI DISTINGUE TRA LE TUE MANI (Italy, 2020, 7') a film by ASTRID ARDENTI – produced by Finisterrae
“Il tempo si distingue tra le tue mani” è un film-lettera sulla distanza. Una riflessione sui meccanismi della memoria, sull’impossibilità di rievocare i ricordi nella loro totalità. Le mani della regista si intrecciano con quelle di sua nonna creando un legame al cui interno scorre il tempo. Si passa da immagini silenziose a parole scritte su scarti di pellicola.
“Time stands out in your hands” is a letter-film about distance. A reflection on the mechanisms of memory, on the impossibility of recalling memories in their entirety. The director's hands intertwine with those of her grandmother, creating a bond in which time flows. We go from silent images to words written on scraps of film.
THEODOR (Italy, 2019, 48') a film by MARIA BOLDRIN – produced by ZeLIG
Dopo 3 anni, Momo, giovane regista italiana, torna a Vienna per dedicare il suo primo film a Theodor. Il loro incontro, avvenuto in maniera casuale, ha lasciato un segno nella vita della ragazza e influenzatole sue decisioni future. Tramite il film la regista intende ritrarre lo straordinario modo di essere di Theo e conservare un documento della loro non comune amicizia, nonostante non le sia ancora chiaro quanto di questa amicizia sia ancora rimasto, e quanto il tempo abbia già cambiato. Un film sui rapporti umani, la vita e la sua imprevedibilità.
After3 years, Momo, a young Italian film student, returns to Vienna to dedicate her first film to Theodor. Their encounter, which happened at random, left a mark on the girl's life and influenced her future decisions. Through the film the filmmaker intends to portray Theo's extraordinary way of being and document their unusual friendship. She faces the question how much of this friendship still has remained,and if time has already caused some of it to fade away. A film about human relationships, life and its unpredictability.

A mother takes care of the elderly in their homes, where the ticking of the clock counts down the working day, among the sounds of heavy breathing, which increase the fear of emptiness...
PIUCCHEPERFETTO (Italy, 2019, 52') a film by RICCARDO GIACCONI – produced by Le Fresnoy
Come in una matrioska ogni schermo ne contiene un altro o ne è contenuto. Sono gli schermi che rimandano l'immagine – sempre diversa, sempre in mutazione - di A., il protagonista di Piuccheperfetto di Riccardo Giacconi. Ci sono le stories di Instagram, gli spezzoni apparentemente sconnessi di filmati salvati sul computer, lo schermo di un telefonino, l'obiettivo della macchina da presa. E le tante “incarnazioni” di A. stesso, Narciso contemporaneo, con i dread neri e lunghi o i capelli corti biondo platino, citando un racconto di Kafka o mentre parla con una cartomante. Ossessionato dalla propria immagine, A. racchiude la propria esistenza in un gioco di specchi in cui il legame con la realtà rimbalza di schermo in schermo sempre più tenue, così come quello del protagonista.
A. is obsessed with his image. Like a postmodern Narcissus, he projects himself in the endless choices that social media devices offer him. Riccardo Giacconi creates a disquieting film about a teenager who gets lost in the maze of the neverending reproductions of his Dorian Grayesque portrait. Taking to new and yet unexplored extremes, the fixation with the digital screens in their many guises, the film works like an almost endless fall – without any kind of parachute – through the network of images hidden behind and inside other images. In this recorded maelstrom of all the possibilities of A.'spast, fragments of his former existence float and circle from screen to screen. Giacconi offers the ultimate depiction of what it means when the image absorbs itself completely and throws out the rest of the world. A visionary and experimental essay, that can be perceived as well as the most accurate portrait of a generation that has become devoid of an image while basking in the glow of all the possible ones. Mario Lorenzini era un operaio, un escursionista, un membro della comunità Walser piemontese e uno straordinario cineamatore. Nei suoi film super8 vediamo le stagioni scorrere nel suo piccolo villaggio, mentre un secondo punto di vista lentamente emerge dando allo spettatore un’interpretazione del suo mondo,della sua vita e della sua idea di cinema.
Mario Lorenzini was a worker, hiker, member of the Piedmontese Walser community and an extraordinary cineamatore. In his super8 films we see the seasons passing through his small village, while a second point of view slowly emerges giving the viewer an interpretation of his world, his life and his idea of cinema.
IL PASSO DELL'ACQUA (Italy, 2019, 53') a film by ANTONIO DI BIASE - produced by ZeLIG
Dalle vette della Maiella al mare Adriatico c'è ancora chi vive a stretto contatto con lo spirito della natura: Domenico, un vecchio pastore che passa le giornate con il suo gregge in alta quota, senza elettricità e acqua corrente; Nisida, una vedova diNovant'anni che, mossa dalla fede,decide di intraprendere un pellegrinaggio verso l'eremo di San Bartolomeo; Nicola, un anziano pescatore in pensione che vive assieme a un gatto bianco tra le rovine del suo vecchio borgo marino circondato dalla città moderna.
From the summit of the Abruzzo mountains to the Adriatic Sea, there are still people who live with a direct contact with nature: Domenico, an old shepherd who spends his days with his flock of sheep in high altitude, without electricity and water; Nisida, a 90 year old widow who, moved by her faith, decides to undertake a pilgrimage to the Heremitage of Saint Bartolomeo; Nicola, a retired fisherman who lives with a white cat in the ruins of his old fishing village surrounded by the modern city.

C’È UN LUPO NEL PARCO DEL RE (Italy, 2019, 53') a film by VIRGINIA NARDELLI – produced by Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia Alba Rovella
Si dice che nel Parco della Favorita a Palermo, si aggiri un lupo. Nessuno lo ha mai visto davvero eppure c’è chi giura di averlo sentito ululare nella notte. Una fantasia? La lingua delle superstizioni e delle storie? Di certo vi abitano molti cani che due sorelle ogni giorno accudiscono. Tra i rami fitti di fogliame qualcuno dispensa segreti, i ragazzini giocano a nascondino e i corridori attraversano il parco. Alcune prostitute attendono al sole qualche sporadico cliente giocando alle parole crociate. Di notte il paesaggio muta: i toni si fanno più intimi e nel buio risuonano le confidenze, i racconti di vita che arrivano fin lì, le ossessioni e i ricordi di chi cerca rifugio tra le fronde. Gli abitanti di questo microcosmo si svelano a poco a poco e il parco si trasforma, creando una dimensione in cui la realtà a volte cruda e amara sconfina nella fiaba, dove i fantasmi, i demoni e le passioni di ognuno sono lasciati liberi, protetti e nascosti dagli alberi.
It's known that in the “Favorita Park” in Palermo, a wolf wanders. Even if no one has ever really seen him yet, there is who swear to have heard him howling in the night. A fantasy? Superstitions? Certainly there are many dogs that two sisters look after every day. Among the dense branches of foliage someone dispenses secrets, children play hide and seek and runners cross the park. Some prostitutes are waiting in the sun for some sporadic customers playing crossword puzzles. At night the landscape changes: the tones become more intimate and in the dark the confidences resound, the obsessions and memories of those who seek refuge among the foliage. The inhabitants of this microcosm are slowly shown and the park is transformed, creating a dimension in which reality and fairy tale are confused, in a place where everyone's ghosts, demons and passions are left free, protected and hidden by trees.

Ensi rappresenta una delle punte di diamante nel rap in Italia. Nel 2019, mentre la trap è al culmine del suo successo virale, esce "Clash",un disco intimo e potente, schiettamente underground e di controtendenza rispetto al suono del momento. "Deng Deng" e"Heart of Clash" sono i due video che rappresentano al meglio il messaggio che Ensi ha voluto racchiudere nel progetto: due spaccati di vita cruda e sincera, a tuffo nel cuore della zona più multietnica di Milano, Via Padova, e lungo le strade dei quartieri diPalermo. Una prova che anche il videoclip può diventare cinema.
Ensi represents one of the spearheads of italian rap. In 2019, while trap is at the peak of its viral success, "Clash" is released, an intimate and powerful album, purely underground and against the trend of the sound of the moment. "Deng Deng" and "Heart of Clash" are the two videos that best represent the message that Ensi wanted to enclose in the project: two sections of raw and sincere life, plunging into the heart of the most multi-ethnic area of Milan, Via Padova, and along the streets of the districts of Palermo. A proof that even videoclips can become cinema.

Miriam e Kevin vivono la loro storia d’amore. Miriam ha 20 anni ed è di origini napoletane, Kevin, 17 anni, ha il fisico da atleta, è nato aNiguarda ma dentro si sente palermitano, come tutta la sua famiglia,e ha un unico sogno: diventare calciatore. Per chi come lui è cresciuto alle Case Rosse di Niguarda, un futuro di fama e ricchezza è l’unico vero modo per andarsene a testa alta. Alla fine dell’estate Kevin è costretto a lasciare il quartiere e con l’autunno si apre un nuovo capitolo verso l’età adulta. Kevin è concentrato sul proprio obiettivo, Miriam con un percorso interiore prova a superare il suo blocco, l’ansia che le rende impossibile allontanarsi dal quartiere da sola.
Miriam and Kevin live their love story. Miriam is 20 years old and comes from Napoli, Kevin, 17 years old, has the physique of an athlete, was born in Niguarda but inside he feels Palermo, like his whole family, and has only one dream: to become a football player. For those like him who grew up in the Case Rosse of Niguarda neighborhood, a future of fame and wealth is the only real way to leave with your head held high. At the end of the summer, Kevin is forced to leave the neighborhood and with the autumn a new chapter opens towards adulthood. Kevin is focused on his goal, Miriam with an inner journey tries to overcome her block, the anxiety that makes it impossible for her to leave the neighborhood alone.
